SwiftCIPC and JSV Consulting are private compliance consultancies and not the CIDB. We assist contractors with compilation, document verification, and administrative processing. We do not promise statutory approval, a guaranteed grade, or a fixed statutory turnaround time. All final grading decisions remain the exclusive prerogative of the CIDB under the Construction Industry Development Board Act 38 of 2000.
Requirements & Assessment Criteria
Understanding what the CIDB evaluates for Grades 2 through 9
Requirements depend on your company's specific circumstances and the target grade sought. The CIDB evaluates contractor applications across two primary pillars:
1. Works Capability (Track Record)
- The largest contract completed in the applied class of works within the past 5 years.
- Official Completion Certificates or signed Practical Completion letters.
- Contactable client references (employer / engineer / project manager).
- Confirmation that projects fall under the correct class (e.g. GB, CE, ME, EB).
2. Financial Capability
- Best annual construction turnover recorded in the last two financial years.
- Available capital / Net Asset Value (NAV) verified on financial statements.
- Financial statements prepared by a registered accounting officer or auditor.
- Valid SARS Tax Compliance Status (TCS PIN) in good standing.
Pre-Application Review: We invite contractors to provide their company details and an outline of their completed project track record in the enquiry form so our compliance team can review the requirements before you incur costs or submit an application.
